I sure you wondering what I have been up to lately. But if you have not, I am still going to tell you.
Great news, no I did not get a degree in fashion, but I did attend the fashion show of the graduating students of the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. Where students of the fashion and textile department showed their collections in the annual KABK 2012 fashion show. And best of all I had front row with tickets courtesy of Soopl, an official sponsor of KABK 2012 fashion show.
I was really impressed with all the collections that were shown. I never thought much about textile and the show made me realize that an outfit is so much more that cutting and sowing. It was amazing to see the different ways textile can be used.
I also really fell in love with the collection of graduating student Tessa van de Meerendonk. I loved the mixture of colors and patterns of her outfits. Tessa produced a collection I could really see myself purchasing and wearing.
Here are some of her outfits:

There were many other students who had amazing collections and I would really recommend checking them out. See you if you can spot the next top fashion designer. Their pictures can all be seen KABK 2012 Fashion Show website: http://www.modeshowkabk.nl
