And the sewing continues. Just attended a quilt workshop offered by ‘Het Naaicafe‘ (The Sewing Shop) were I learned a few of the different techniques of quilting.
By the end of the workshop I made a patchwork (top layer of a quilt) pillow case using the crazy quilt technique. As I have been told, I can now also confirm that quilting is very addictive. It takes a lot of patience but the end result is amazing. I would recommend it to anyone who has ever thought of trying it as it is very easy to do and does not require advance sewing skills.

Now this quilt making idea has been in the back of my mind since 1995 when I saw the movie How to Make An American Quilt. That is when I knew that someday I would make a quilt with my own family. Check out a beautiful video below that shows the essence of the movie.
With the help of my mother, I have now started working on my own quilt, which should be finished before the winter is over. I will be sure to post a blog when it is completed.
