If you read my Quilting blog post, you would know that I have been working on making a quilt this winter. Now I can finally say it is finished and I am very please with the results.
First part of making my T-shirt Quilt was taking T-shirts and cutting out the logo’s into squares and ironing them on a material called facing to strengthen the T-shirt so that they would not stretch when making the quilt.
The T-shirt squares were laid out to arrange them in the desired order.
Then the strips were added on all 4 corners of each square.
The strips would then be sewn on to each square one by one,
and then ironed until all the squares and strips were sewn together to make the top layer of the quilt complete.
The completed top layer would then be sewn together with a second layer (the filling) and third layer (the back).
After the three layers are sewn together the edges were sewn in to complete the T-shirt Quilt.

The beauty of the T-shirt quilt is that it is a great way to make a quilt on a budget. You get to recycle T-shirts that you do not use anymore. It might be that just like me, that over the years you have accumulated many T-shirts. Or it can also be that you may not want to throw away the T-shirts you currently have due to its sentimental value. Whatever the reason a T-shirts quilt is a very special quilt as it is very personal and unique. It is also one of the simplest way to start quilting as all the pieces/patches are cut in the same square size, which will make for easy sewing when you are beginner at sewing. Let me know what you think of my T-shirt Quilt and if you are also working on a sewing project.
I can can not end this blog without thanking my lovely mom for her assistance and patience in helping make this T-Shirt Quilt, her helping me with this project has turned a winter project into a wonderful family project.
