Nothing like going shopping during the Winter sale to make you feel inspired to write a blog post. I do not even remember the last time I did an Outfit Of The Day (OOTD). I do have several outfits, I would have liked to have shown on the blog, however not having someone there to take you picture makes it a bit more difficult and using a timer is just not as much fun.
But this time the outfit was to lovely for me not to blog about it. During my trip to New York, (read about it here) I visited a small shop in the an Afro-Caribbean neighbourhood in Brooklyn, where I spotted skirts with African prints. The colours were fresh and lively. I just knew I had to try one one.
When I looked in the mirror after trying on the skirt, the first thing it did was put a smile on my face. While the gloomy weather outside was making me feel the opposite the skirt has the opposite effect. After trying on different skirt, I ended up buying two. One of which I really wanted to show off on the blog.
I must say it really does not bother me that Summer is well behind us and that colder days are ahead, where almost everyone tend to wear darker colours. Sometimes you just should wear what makes you happy. Reminded me of the quote about fashion and expressing yourself.
