Recently I did an outdoor photo shoot that was gifted to me by one of my dear friends for my Birthday. The photo shoot was done by Dutch photography studio Sophia Fotografie and for the outdoor location I choose Park Sonsbeek.
Park Sonsbeek is one of my favorite parks to take a stroll in the Spring when the flowers are blossoming or in the Winter to enjoy the beautiful scenery after a snowfall or to sit and read a book in the Summer. Even now in the Fall the park is as breathtaking as ever with the leaves fading into different colors as you can see from the photos. Doing this outdoor photo shoot looks completely different from the one I did at a photo studio more than 5 years ago (link here).
Even though the photos were taken by a professional photographer my goal for the outdoor photo shoot was to wear an outfit that would represented my truest self. For that reason, I purposely decided that I would not buy any new outfit for the photo shoot and that my entire outfit would consist of clothing that I already had in my closet. The outfit I wore consisted of a sweater from H&M, jeans from Zizzi Fashion, Cardigan from Bluenotes and boots from Remonte.
I will always be able to look back at the photos and remember that in that moment it was me being authentic self. How about you? Do you think of authenticity when you take pictures or think about how many likes you will get on social media?
Always remember,
Do what makes you happy.
